2026, 50 × 40 cm, oil and acrylic on canvas
Inspired by a road trip through the Western Australian Wheatbelt, ‘Thoughts by Taller Trees’ captures passing gum trees, a sunlit horizon and the blurred stretches of road. Vivid red is exposed around the borders and flashes throughout the painting, conveying the energy of moving through the landscape and vastness that continues beyond the edges. Through this work, I hope to express feelings of expansion, anticipation and excitement when travelling to distant places and the natural world.
